We encourage applications from statistics education researchers (and practitioners with an interest in research/scholarship) from all over the world, at any career stage (from undergraduate to Professor), with any level of experience, and of any demographic.
We are a non-profit academic community and all positions are voluntary.

CORE COMMITTEE
The Core Committee consists of the Director and Co-Directors and is responsible for the overall strategy and management of the RoSE Network, including oversight of the General Committee.
Co-Director - COMMUNICATIONs x2
Overview:
Our Communications Team are a vital part of the RoSE team as they connect us to the statistics education community. They oversee our website, newsletter, and social media, and have the scope to develop new communications offerings, such as our new blog.
Key Responsibilities:
Represents communications on the Core Committee, acting as liaison between the Network’s members, the communications team, and the Core Committee
Oversees the RoSE Communications Team, who run our website, social media, newsletter, and other forms of external communication as required
Ensuring content produced by the team is clearly written, accessible and inclusive, released in a timely manner, and - where relevant - using our in-house style
Key point of contact for communications, including external and internal queries
Other ad-hoc tasks relating to communications, including marketing strategy and management, for the RoSE Network
Person Specification:
We encourage applications from statistics education researchers (and practitioners with an interest in research/scholarship) from all over the world, at any career stage (from undergraduate to Professor), and of any demographic.
We do not require experience, just potential and enthusiasm!
For this specific role, we'd especially like to hear from people with:
An interest in social media, website content/building, and/or newsletter content/building
Excellent written communication skills
Attention to detail (e.g., strong proof-reading skills)
EDI awareness (e.g., the important of using alt-text and inclusive language)
As this is a Core Committee role, team and/or project management experience would be beneficial, but not essential
Time Commitment:
We recognise that RoSE committee members are volunteers and that your day jobs are notoriously hectic. As such, we operate a "many hands make light work" model to help share the load and ensure continuity. In particualr, we are recruiting one other Co-Director for Communication and you will be supported by our existing Communications Team.
Between the Communication Co-Directors, you will be expected to:
Attend 1 x 2-hour Core Committee meeting every two months
Attend 1 x 2-hour General Committee meeting every three months
Spend an average of 30 minutes per week on ongoing communications work

Co-Director - FINANCE x2
Overview:
The RoSE Network has so far been entirely unfunded. We'd like to change this, so that we're able to provide assistance where required for accessibility and inclusion (e.g., internet access in remote areas), to develop our infrastructure (e.g., our website and newsletter), and to award prizes and funding for statistics education research and scholarship. The Finance Co-Directors will work to identify, set-up, and manage sources of funding (e.g., a pay-as-you-feel model for our conference, a Patreon-style subscription, merchandise, grants) and look after our accounts (e.g., via a third party management company).
Key Responsibilities:
Represents financial matters, including accounting, fundraising, and financial strategy on the Core Committee, acting as liaison between the Network’s members, the Fundraising Team, and the Core Committee
Key point of contact for financial matters, including external and internal queries
Oversees the RoSE Fundraising Team, which will be tasked with identifying and applying for (with support from the wider committee) sources of funding
Other ad-hoc tasks relating financial strategy and management for the RoSE Network
Person Specification:

As such, we operate a "many hands make light work" model to help share the load and ensure continuity. In particular, we are recruiting for one other Co-Director for Finance and, once the two Co-Directors are in place, we will begin recruiting a team of fundraisers to support you.
Between the Finance Co-Directors, you will be expected to:
Attend 1 x 2-hour Core Committee meeting every two months
Attend 1 x 2-hour General Committee meeting every three months
Spend an average of 30 minutes per week on proactive fundraising and/or related project work (project work can be concentrated in your least busy periods)

Co-Director - EDI
Overview:
Equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility are part of our core values. Our EDI Co-Directors are there to ensure that we are not just "hand waving", but taking meaningful action in the pursuit of making RoSE, our events, and our initiatives as accessible and welcoming as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
Represents EDI on the Core Committee, acting as liaison between the Network’s members, the EDI team, and the Core Committee
Key point of contact for EDI, including external and internal queries
Oversees the RoSE EDI Team
Ownership (e.g., updating and enforcing) our Code of Conduct
Chairs any EDI-related disputes that arise
Other ad-hoc tasks relating to EDI strategy and management for the RoSE Network
Person Specification:

The General Committee consists of various teams that support the Core Committee in the running of the RoSE Network.
COMMUNICATIONS TEAM MEMBER - SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER
Overview:
Our social media presence is one of the key ways we connect with and engage the wider statistics education community in our events and initiatives. As well as a critical channel for promoting our own events and initiatives, we seek out and share other statistics education content for our followers.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for advertising RoSE events and initiatives on various social media platforms, as instructed by the Communications Co-Directors
Creating, seeking, and sharing other statistics education content on a regular basis
Person Specification:
We encourage applications from statistics education researchers (and practitioners with an interest in research/scholarship) from all over the world, at any career stage (from undergraduate to Professor), and of any demographic.
We do not require lots of experience, just potential and enthusiasm!
For this specific role, we'd especially like to hear from people with:
Experience or a strong interest in social media (especially for academic purposes)
Excellent written communication skills
Attention to detail (e.g., strong proof-reading skills)
EDI awareness (e.g., the important of using alt-text and inclusive language)

geographic centre REPRESENTATIVES
Overview:
The RoSE Network aims to be truly global. To achieve that, we want to proactively build connections with other statistics education networks, research groups, and individual practitioners throughout the world. As part of our Outreach Team, our Geographic Centre Leads will drive this endeavour forward by identifying and developing connections in your world regions and working with our EDI Team to identify and remove any barriers to participation.
Key Responsibilities:
Each centre should have between one and three leads that are responsible for the promotion, inclusion, and accessibility of RoSE for their world region, working closely with the Outreach Co-Directors
Working with other RoSE committee members (e.g., communications team) to promote RoSE events and initiatives worldwide, with the aim of fully diversifying the Network geographically (e.g, by connecting with local societies and research groups)
Working with other RoSE committee members (e.g., the EDI, conference, & funding teams) to remove geographical barriers to participating with RoSE events and initiatives
Other ad-hoc tasks relating to geographical outreach for the RoSE Network
Person Specification:
We encourage applications from statistics education researchers (and practitioners with an interest in research/scholarship) from all over the world, at any career stage (from undergraduate to Professor), and of any demographic. We do not require lots of experience, just potential and enthusiasm!
