Call for Blog Contributors
What do you think the world needs to know about statistics education right now? Do you want to share your ideas with an international and inclusive network? Are you looking for a way to connect and collaborate with like-minded researchers? If so, then we want to hear from you!
We are actively seeking contributors for the RoSE Blog. Launched in December 2024, our monthly blog series aims to highlight some of the key issues facing statistics education today. The RoSE Network is a multinational group striving to learn from and collaborate with each other in order to improve statistics education from using evidence-based practice. If you have ideas you want to share with the community, writing a blog can be the perfect springboard to spark ideas, inspiration, and discussions with other readers. With hundreds of followers across our social media networks, this is a great way to engage with your audience and have your voice heard.
As a network, we are all about collaboration and creativity. With this in mind we welcome blogs from multiple contributors. We also welcome all types of contributions. You can submit a written blog, or one with plots and images to highlight your points. If you want to be creative with your work, then go ahead!
Format Guidelines
We want to hear what you have to say, whether that be a little or a lot. That being said, we encourage all contributors to write at least 500 words, and to try not to exceed 2500 words.
Blogs sShould be focused around the topic of research in statistics education.
Unsure about what constitutes research in statistics education? See Terry et al. (2025) for more information.
Posts will be reviewed before publishing to confirm that they align with the network’s mission statement and code of conduct.
Publishing Process
If you are interested in writing a blog for our network, please complete the following form, and one of our Communications Team members will be in touch.

Contributor is required to submit (via email) a first draft at least two weeks before the agreed release date
Posts will be reviewed (see Format Guidelines above) and edits will be suggested only if the content doesn’t adhere to the network’s guidelines, or for minor errors (e.g. grammar/spelling)
The outcome of the review will be communicated to the contributor 5 days - 1 week before the release date. The contributor and blog editor will communicate and finalise the blog post.
Post will be finalised 2-3 days before the release date
Blog editor will publish the post and follow-up with the contributor to thank them for their contribution on release day. Keep yourself posted on our social media channels should you wish to promote your contribution!
If for any reason you are unable to follow the above timeline following approval, please get in touch with our blog editor, Mag (hh479@sussex.ac.uk), at least 3 days before the release date. Depending on the review progress, your post may either be delayed for a few days, or postponed to another month.
